IKEA LACK Hack

Ever time I walk through IKEA it feels like I should be relinquishing my carpenter’s certification. But the reality is the LACK floating shelves are unbeatable for price; Around $25 CAD for a 42” shelf!

There is no way I can buy materials and justify my time to build a similar floating shelf when I can pick one up at that price. And here is where I earn back the carpenter’s status. I knew the shelf would be too long for the space that I was planning to put it. A little problem solving, an hour in the shop and I have a custom floating shelf at unbeatable price.
